Cholesterol is an unsaturated waxy solid that is manufactured in the body. Cholesterol helps to produce bile and metabolize fat soluble vitamins. It also has important function with respect to cell membrane management. Cholesterol can be got from diet or made in the tissue membranes. High density lipoprotein (HDL) that helps to deliver cholesterol to the liver also helps remove cholesterol from the arteries and hence helps in protecting against heart disease. Dietary cholesterol is otherwise called low density lipoprotein (LDL) that carries cholesterol from the liver to the tissue membranes.

Increased cholesterol amounts in the arteries can lead to plaques that gradually damage arteries over time. This can lead to heart attack, stroke, or other heart ailments. Hence for all issues regarding cholesterol management for heart and vascular health, the underlying remedy lies in lowering LDL cholesterol. Increasing the HDL cholesterol levels is mostly overlooked but the main advantage of this approach is that it can improve removal of cholesterol from dangerous locations in the arteries.

Cholesterol balance can be brought about by making some diet changes. Macro nutrients that affect cholesterol include protein, fiber, and fats. Vitamins and minerals that comprise micro nutrients can affect lipid peroxidation. Fiber is very helpful in lowering total and LDL cholesterol levels while raising HDL levels according to the American Heart association (AHA). Protein especially whey protein has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol. Another great cholesterol managing protein is soy.

A number of natural products and the key nutrients in them can also help with cholesterol management. Most notable among them are DHA, Omega-3s and 6s, EPA, Vitamin E, Vitamin B, and Niacin. There are other flavonoids that can help with cholesterol care. These include cocoa, tea, and fruit.

Citrus bioflavonoids when combined with vitamin E can also help with antioxidant management. These include fruits such as pomegranate and grape seed extract which help to limit LDL oxidation. Garlic, is also a great cholesterol managing botanical as it contains antioxidant constituents that help to lower total and LDL cholesterol while still maintaining HDL levels. Some other types of algae and pine bark extract also help to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

Apart from the above there are other well researched methods also to lower the bad and increase the good cholesterol levels in the body.

Cholesterol sometimes creates great problems. Earlier, people were completely unaware of the fact that what foods must be taken to maintain healthy cholesterol level in the body. But the question is what cholesterol is? Let’s first find the answer of this question.

Cholesterol can be defined as a lipid that is required for all important functions of the body. Each cell of our body is surrounded by cholesterol. Cholesterol present in the body insulates the nerve fibers. The insulated nerve fibers thus signify that the nerves are functioning properly.

Again, the hormones produced by cholesterol too transfers signal from the brain to the different parts of the body. Thus it can be seen that cholesterol plays an important part in proper functioning of the body. But it has been said that all things present in the world has a good as well as a bad side. Therefore, the cholesterol present in the body too creates some bad impact on the body.

The bad effects of cholesterol include the problems like the increase of heart diseases. So; the level of cholesterol must be checked. At this juncture one may ask that how cholesterol level in the body can be maintained? To maintain the level of cholesterol one at first should consult a doctor.

However this would not be enough to judge that whether the level of cholesterol is okay or it may create heart diseases. In fact the best way to know the exact situation one must check out the level of lipoprotein present in the body. These molecules are actually the carriers’ spread cholesterol in all parts of the body.

These molecules are responsible for maintaining the level of cholesterol in the body. There are two types of lipoproteins that are found to be present in the body. They are high density lipoproteins and low density lipoproteins.

Among these two lipoproteins the level of the second one may prove to be dangerous for health. The presence of high level of low density lipoproteins signify that one have a bad chloestrol. Thus measures must be taken to heal up the deficiency. On the other hand, the presence of the high density lipoprotein signifies that a person have good cholesterol.

In this case, the cholesterol are carried from the body cells to the liver. The level of cholesterol that one should have can be assessed only by a doctor. Usually, a person should have an average of 4.0 mmo1/1 chlorestrol. But in case of a person having low density lipoprotein count should have an average of 2.0mmo 1/1 cholesterol.

However, the level of cholesterol that must be present in the body of a person depends on his or her health condition. Thus, the level of cholesterol present in the body varies from person to person.

To maintain healthy cholesterol levels one should have healthy but low fat diet. This actually helps to lower down the level of LDL chloresterol. At the same time a person should abandon the habit of smoking. He or she should loose weight and must do physical exercise to raise the level of HDL cholesterol.

Proactol is a weight loss product that can help you reduce the cholesterol level in your body by binding up to 28% of the fat you eat. Find out more about it here: Proactol Review

You’ve worked hard to lower your cholesterol levels, now comes the maintenance phase for a cholesterol normal range lifestyle. In order to stay fit as you age, you will want to continue to monitor your cholesterol levels, eat a proper diet and exercise regularly.

Stick with the eating plan that has brought you success and lowered your cholesterol. It’s okay to treat yourself to a snack that isn’t usually allowed once in a while. Just be sure to watch portions and maintain self control. You should be proud of the hard work and dedication it took for you to come so far and use those feelings of accomplishment to resist the urge to slip comfortably back into your old, unhealthy lifestyle.

To keep within cholesterol normal range your exercise routine should be kept up. Getting used to daily exercise is not easy and once you start missing your exercise sessions, you may find yourself getting back to your old routine. So every time you feel like missing a session, recall how hard it was to make exercise part of your daily routine.

It’s important to maintain a routine of good health habits. Even though you have successfully gotten into a cholesterol normal range for the time being, there is still the possibility it can rise again. Remember how good it feels to have your health and vitality back whenever you’re tempted to cheat.

Diet and exercise is not always effective in lowering cholesterol. In some cases, medical intervention is needed to get into a cholesterol normal range. There are some people that naturally produce a higher level of cholesterol also there are patients that need to lower their levels down immediately due to heart disease. In these cases, a doctor may be able to prescribe medication along with diet and exercise.

Poor diet could hinder the effectiveness of any medication you take, so make sure that you maintain a good diet along with intake of medication to lower cholesterol. By maintaining a cholesterol normal range, it is also good for the heart, and keeps you fitter and younger for a longer time.

In order to have a healthy cholesterol normal range, you must exercise and eat only healthy cholesterol friendly foods that you enjoy. When you balance the correct foods with exercise you will find that you not only look better, but feel better as well.

When your physician hands you the diagnosis that you have high cholesterol levels and you must change your lifestyle to reduce your cholesterol, you should also be striving to raise HDL cholesterol levels in your blood. When cholesterol is elevated, the HDL cholesterol has been proven to decrease the LDL cholesterol that is bad and help you prevent the problems that come with having a high cholesterol number.

Patients with an inadequate level of HDL cholesterol have a greater chance of getting heart disease since it is believed that the HDL cholesterol takes away the harmful LDL cholesterol from the arteries and brings it to the liver. When the good cholesterol levels are insufficient the bad cholesterol will increase excessively and ultimately block the arteries. To eliminate this risk, you would need to raise HDL cholesterol levels.

The first thing the doctor will do when you consult him about your high cholesterol is monitor your diet. A nutritionist can help you decide your diet, so that your LDL levels are lowered and to allow you to raise HDL cholesterol levels. This will include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet, and reduced amount of fat.

You should do plenty of research and plan out a fun, easy exercise routine targeted to reduce excess weight and bad cholesterol. This will help you to raise HDL cholesterol and thus help to unclog your arteries. Daily attention to your health, by way of proper diet and exercise, can result in a decrease in your risk of most forms of heart disease.

Once you switch over to low fat diet and regular exercise, teach this healthy living technique to the rest of your family. By this you will not only be maintaining your own health, but will also help in maintaining the good health of all your family members. A healthy diet is not always easy to follow, but once you get used to it, it’s a piece of cake. By being a role model for your children, you will be helping them safeguard their health. This will play an important role in their future health also.

Plenty of information is available to help you modify your lifestyle so as to address the major issues related to health. Pick out a few cookbooks and earn to cook using healthy foods. You will be able to find many excellent recipes that will give you delicious and healthy meals. You can raise HDL cholesterol and contemporaneously lower LDL cholesterol by making a conscious effort to eat properly.

It is possible to raise HDL cholesterol and lower LDL cholesterol through diet and exercise alone but keep in mind that depending on the extent of your cholesterol levels and related issues, medications may be needed. You should discuss this with your doctor for the best results.
